there's more things in avnd that are candidates to be removed:
- avnd_evt_ava_comp_val_req & avnd_evt_avd_comp_validation_resp_evh
- avnd_avnd_msg_send
- avnd_evt_mds_avnd_dn_evh
- avnd_evt_mds_avnd_up_evh
- avnd_evt_avnd_avnd_evh
- everything in avnd_proxy.c and avnd_proxydb.c
- everything in avnd_avnd.c (except avnd_evt_avd_reboot_evh that seems
misplaced)

I guess we can't remove complete checkpoint code and need not be removed as
some code could be reused later on.
We can remove config related checkpoints but run time related checkpoint need
to be kept there. Also all the above functions need to be kept as such because
it could be reused and we need later for back ward compatibility point of view
also.
In general, the changes should be like we had done for making Hot Standby
feature, where we removed config related checkpointing. I agree, this will be a
tedious work.
