** [tickets:#842] IMM: Additional upgrade flag (noStdFlags) needed for OpenSAF
4.5**
**Status:** assigned
**Milestone:** 4.5.FC
**Created:** Wed Apr 09, 2014 08:37 AM UTC by Anders Bjornerstedt

OpenSAF 4.5 will have some enhancements that introduce new IMMND message types.
One example is the message supporting saImmOmCcbValidate() for ticket #798.
This means we need to protect upgrades going from 4.x to 4.5 from using such
new 4.5 message types. We use the 'noStdFlags' runtime attribute in the object
'opensafImm=opensafImm,safApp=safImmService' for this purpose.
There are already flag values defined for upgrades to 4.1 and 4.3.
OpenSAF 4.2 and 4.4 did not introduce any new IMMND message types.
See osaf/services/saf/immsv/README for current details about 'noStdFlags'.
The relevant upgrade flags are automatically set to 'on' for any cluster-
start/restart. But a rolling upgrade would have the noStdFlags set for the
OpenSAF release the upgrade starts from. In the completion phase of the upgrade,
when all nodes run the target OpenSAF release, the upgrade flag for that
release should be turned on by the campaign.
Defining this ticket as a defect to eliminate the risk that it does not get
fixed in 4.5.FC
