Default values defined for attributes in class definitions are only
used/assigned when:
1) An IMM object is being created and no value has been assigned to an
attribute that does have a default.
2) At cluster restart when an object is being loaded and no value exists
for an attribute that does have a default.
An example when the default value is NOT used would be if an attribute is
modified from having had a value to not having any value. In this case
the dafault will not be assigned, even if it exists.
