I think it was not only because of the LSB non-compliance, but also because
having a syscall within logtrace is costly, bad!
The followup discussions ended with suggestions of using pthread_self() or
variatns of pthread_getthreadid(whichever is appropriate)
And also to avoid obtaining the thread id in every call of logtrace!

Logging of thread id in trace files was removed in changeset 1676:29a0e85f7707

since gettid() is not part of LSB. We could re-introduce this feature by
loading the gettid symbol dynamically. If the symbol is not avialable, we can
simply skip logging the thread id.
