Yes. I know. But in my previous email, you may have noticed in my captured 
packet file, that although controller has not received packet from 211.7 for 
long, 211.8 did not became "active", and I did not find in controller's log 
that 211.7 has left the cluster.

Hi Ted,
        OpenSAF services uses MDS over TCP/TIPC to detect if any node has come 
up or gone down. You can check the node left messages in syslog. Can you please 
share the snaps syslog of all the nodes when one of them  has gone down.
