Thanks. But is there a dedicated thread to monitor this? If using socket 
monitoring, how when the app crashes, in this case there would be no socket 
close, thus how this can be detected?

This is not a case of pid monitoring.

This is generated based on the socket connectivity with the 
application/component process. So, upon process death/exit
you are seeing this event being generated for all processing using OpenSAF 
agent libraries.
(Ofcourse, you could attach the process to strace or debug the coredump of your 
application
to understand where the crash or exit happened!)
