Hi Marc,

The minimum  kernel version mentioned in  OpenSAF 5.1 README was derived
based on TIPC compatible version for that kernel  and the features used
by Opensaf (like multicast) of TIPC and fixes available for that TIPC version.

Opensaf was evaluated with all possible options on that minimum kernel and 
above.

Any other kernel below that minimum requirement need to be re-evaluated based on
that kernel compatible TIPC version and its fixes available for that TIPC 
version.
