Hi Jim,

32-bit and 64-bit nodes should work fine.
My biggest concern is when you have both big endian and little endian nodes.
I have raised a discussion for this case (
https://sourceforge.net/p/opensaf/tickets/824/ ), since I cannot test this
combination of nodes.

BR,
Zoran

Subject: [users] 32-bit/64-bit compatibility of nodes in same cluster

Hi all,

Just a general question on 32/64 compatibility of OpenSAF across nodes in the
same cluster.
A potential need was recently identified, where we may need to support having 2
different Controllers in the same cluster, where one is a 32-bit architecture,
and the other is a 64-bit architecture. Has this type of scenario existed
previously? More generically, does OpenSAF support mixing of 32-bit nodes and
64-bit nodes, in the same cluster?

Thanks.

Jim
