Hi Gary,

TCP is being used.
In the end, just to be safe, the user decided to go with unique cluster IDs.
That is, for their old system, the IDs are 1 & 2.
Their new system is making use of cluster IDs 3 & 4.

Thanks!

Hi David

Are you using MDS or TCP?

If latter, I think there's an option to use multicast, so it might not work so
well if enabled.

Gary

Subject: [users] opensaf clusters in different vlans from a layer 2 perspective

Hi all,

If we have two opensaf clusters, both using the same cluster ID, is it a matter
of the site not being layer 2 switched for the same subnet between sites?
So, if the two OpenSAF domains are in different vlans from a layer2
perspective, they should not discover each other, correct?
Thus, it shouldn't matter that the layer 3 is routable between the 2 domains.

Regards,
David
