Glad to see you're still looking into this. Here's the update on my side: Apparently the FIPS model does not work with the Eutron/Safesign Linux driver on all systems. I think this has to do with differences in USB systems (OHCI/UCHI ?) or something to that effect. Eutron support sent me an ITSEC-P model for testing, because it is supposed to work with both kinds of USB systems. And indeed, it works using their Linux driver. Interestingly, both ITSEC-P and FIPS use the same software driver (is this also true for the other models?). However, I believe the problem with the FIPS model under Linux is really just a software (driver) matter, and not a problem with the device itself, since Eutron claims this to be a limitation only when using Linux. So hopefully this means that OpenSC will be able to support FIPS, though I'm quite surprised that Eutron is unable to. They also told me that ITSEC-P only supports T=1, while FIPS supports both T=0 and T=1. Do your cards give you the extra zero byte upon insert? I'm pretty certain ITSEC-P doesn't do this, otherwise it would surely break Eutron's Linux driver (the extra zero from the FIPS causes the driver to immediately throw an error and give up). -Justin _______________________________________________ opensc-devel mailing list opensc-devel@lists.opensc-project.org http://www.opensc-project.org/mailman/listinfo/opensc-devel
