We are trying to use the Windows XP Remote Desktop Connection with smart cards using the IdAlly CSP and OpenSC Smart Card Bundle. This works fine on a local XP machine.
When used across the Remote Desktop Connection, the PIV card takes only 10 seconds, as expected but the GemSafe cards don't work. Using pkcs11-tool on the remote workstation, to a GemSafe card on the local workstation, the debug output shows a number transmissions, then it just stops. It look like the card has some timeout problems or dropped packets in PC/SC between the two systems. Has anyone seen anything timing problems like this? Are there any windows tuning parameters for PC/SC? -- Douglas E.
