Hi, I've successfully used HP Smart Card Terminal with the OpenSC suite (openct, opensc, ssl engine and smartcard-enabled openssh). Details of the device are as follows:
photo (yeah!): http://www.ommadawn.pl/static/reader.jpg lsusb: Bus 003 Device 005: ID 03f0:0824 Hewlett-Packard /proc/bus/usb/devices: P: Vendor=03f0 ProdID=0824 Rev= 5.30 S: Manufacturer=SCM Microsystems Inc. S: Product=HP USB Smartcard Reader After I've added the vendor/device code to openct.conf, it worked well with the standard USB CCID driver. Also, the card I got with the reader (see the photo above) works well - it's a standard Gemplus GPK card. Even without prior experience with smart cards, I've managed to use it to log in via ssh. The name printed on the card is 'HP ProtectTools Smartcard'. If any developer wishes so, I can provide shell access to a machine with the reader attached. I can also disassemble a reader to examine the internals, too (I've already looked inside but forgot to read the marks on the chip inside). Also, it would be nice to incorporate the above information into the website - when I bought the reader, I had to face the risk of spending cash on something that will be totally unusable (as it has been with lots of weird hardware). The more information available for people, the better. ;] Kosma Moczek _______________________________________________ opensc-devel mailing list [email protected] http://www.opensc-project.org/mailman/listinfo/opensc-devel
