No. It might be that the Ubuntu system has pcscd 1.3.1 and  ccid 1.0.1

I see  in a meesage from you  Sat Aug 12 2006 - 15:37:51 CDT
that you added extended support to ccid 1.1.0

I also see that the GemPC Twin is reported to support extended in T=1

The ccid-1.0.1 might be the problem. I am going to upgrade the Ubuntu system
  to 7.04 that says it will upgrade ccid.

I am also going to try on Solaris Solaris 10 using the pcsc svn and ccid source.
