sorry, I never worked with memory cards myself, so no clue here. if you have the option to use different cards and readers, then rfid might be an option for you. I think the rfid guys tested reading and writing to stupid memory cards well. also you might want to have a look at other projects using dump cards, like scez software (open source smart card software, quite old) or software for health insurance cards, "geldkarte" etc. also maybe the author of the acr38 driver can help? good luck!
