Debian provides it in the package docbook-xsl

This value is valid for, at least, Debian stable and Debian sid.

Is it possible to have this value as default?
And let a user explicitely use --with-xsl-stylesheets-dir= to use a
different value

If not possible I would like to have the error message "Please set
xml-stylesheets directory using --with-xsl-stylesheets-dir" more
informative like:
"Please set xml-stylesheets directory (containing html/docbook.xsl and
manpages/docbook.xsl files) using --with-xsl-stylesheets-dir"
