UPSes (well, just only HID). Why Smart Cards should stay unknown

Yes. It is linked to the secondary problem and in particular to granting
device access to applications that don't use pcscd. Only some of them
are open source and can be modified accordingly.

Grating access to users physically present at the computer.
It uses standard UNIX ACL, so it can apply to both device nodes and
sockets.
