Hi everyone,

In the hope not to start any old thread and greeting the developers
here, I'd like to find help on a, possibly, simple thing; or an
impossible one.

The fact is that in Spain we have two parallel national schemes for
authentication/signature purposes: CERES(Fnmt) and DNIE (Electronic
National Identity Document). The first one is file based and backed by
the Social Security and the Tax Office, and the second one is
smartcard (ST19WL34 - 32KB) based and backed by the Police, and within
few years everyone will have one.

There is a OpensSC driver for the 'dnie' card. No sources. No card OS
documentation. And worst, the developer must use his own (cannot be
shared) card for characterization; outsiders are not welcome in a
Police backed development.
http://www.dnielectronico.es/descargas/PKCS11_para_Sistemas_Unix/opensc.dnie-1.4.4.4.dmg

As the 'dnie' driver guarantees the compatibility with (an old version
of) sca (0.2.3pre2); one can sign online using OSX Firefox, but
"security unlock-keychain" gets to nowhere. My guess is that we can
walk the extra mile from there. And my first goal is to let it play
with the opensc.tokend in order to get more eyes on the dnie.

So I'm here to ask for directions about how to start a card profile
like those in /Library/OpenSC/share/opensc/ . Without any clue about
the internals, just being able to poke around with the pkcs11 and
pkcs15-tool.

Thanks, people.
