Indeed, that's what makes it interesting (from developers, to developers).
This also sets a requirement for possible presentations: less BS, more essence.
"Show me the code". "Show me the architecture". I must say that GnomeKeyring
has way better architecture graphics [1] than OpenSC [2] for example.

Lack of interoperability or depth of integration is IMHO a real problem for
smart card adoption, which has been repeated over and over again on the
mailing list as well.
For example, why can't GDM automagically log me in if a smart card is inserted.
The problem is greater with client facing software, as the struggle
to enable server services to use hardware based keys is not as visible, even
though it is similar in nature. But still exists: for example I'd like to be
able to run a SSH server with host keys on a USB token, but can't. Even though
ssh can use PKCS#11 for client keys...

Being able to meet other developers from various different projects allows to
promote a common agenda and maybe even have some code sprints.
I think that the Fedora crypto consolidation and NSS shared DB efforts are
important enough to pay close attention to and to be involved at least in the
discussion, if not in development. The spirit of the efforts is IMHO well worth
the trouble.

So to get the most out of it, I think we should give a clear idea on where
OpenSC stands, what it provides, what we would expect from "other projects",
what is missing from the overall picture and what is missing from existing
software, what can we do to improve the situation and hopefully some tangible
actions that could be foxed on site, be it documentation, code sprints, new
software or something else.
