I have now briefly tested this inside the initrd/initramfs image and it
works - needless to say I am very pleased! As it turned out,
pcsc-lite-libs is not required and I am also confident I could slim down
the number of libraries/executables even further. I can now also
concentrate my efforts on writing a module which allows login and
unlocking encrypted partitions using a smartcard token.
