Further to my previous post: mystery now solved! I now know what you meant by asking me to compare both pkcs11-tool and pkcs15-tool outputs (it goes to show what I know of OpenSC/OpenCT)!
I just registered a second pin and added another data object to my token with that (2nd) PIN. when I execute "pkcs11-tool -L" I now have 3 slots (I had just one previously): Slot 0, which was my previous slot with auth-id 01 PIN, Slot 1, which now contains my 2nd PIN and I also have a third slot which does not contain anything (at least the output of both -lO and -O is nothing). I know now how this works and that I do not need to worry which auth-id to use (if at all). _______________________________________________ opensc-devel mailing list opensc-devel@lists.opensc-project.org http://www.opensc-project.org/mailman/listinfo/opensc-devel
