I am talking about readers.
pcsc-lite 1.6.0 now starts with udev,
and therefore there is a (very) short delay
before the smartcard system is ready for use after insertion.
I don't know whether this is related to your issue,
but we noticed a short 1 / 2 seconds delay before you can use the
smartcard reader upon insertion.
What is your pcsc-lite version?
