Greetings:

Is it possible to read the configured max number of incorrect PIN
attempts configured on a PKCS15 smart card programmatically? We are
experiencing an issue with the ATHENA ASE smartcard for Windows OS
login. This particular card does not apparently return a "LOCKED" flag
when the PIN has been locked out. As a workaround for this limitation I
would like to programmatically read the configured number of max
incorrect PIN attempts and implement a counter. If the user performs
the number of unsuccessful authentication attempts equal to the value
read, the user will be notified that their PID "may" be locked out. By
the way, I should mention that we are using a minidriver for Windows XP
to provide this functionality.

Has anybody else experienced this issue with the Athena smart card?
