Not sure if related, but I suffered similar problems in my Fedora 14
box, with either an OmniKey CardMan 4321 00 00 or LTC31v2: sometimes,
card becomes unresponsive, or not detected... I had to replug reader and
restart pcscd daemon to restart

Fedora 13 does not suffer this problem, and backporting ccid and
pcsc-lite from upcoming Fedora 15 to Fedora 14, problem goes away
Fedora 13: ccid-1.3.11-2.fc13.i686, pcsc-lite-1.5.5-5.fc13.i686
Fedora 14: ccid-1.4.0-2.fc14.i686.rpm, pcsc-lite-1.6.4-3.fc14.i686.rpm
Fedora 15(beta): pcsc-lite-ccid-1.4.1-2.fc15.i686.rpm,
pcsc-lite-1.6.6-3.fc15.i686.rpm
