Did you implement basic access control (BAC) for an MRTD via MRZ, Juan?
If yes, the protocol should be the same for all cards. So something
driver/card specific should not be needed, but a program implementing
BAC with OpenSC is nice.

A python tool for MRTDs with BAC and some GUI can also be found here
https://github.com/henryk/cyberflex-shell Henryk's code also contains a
lot of other fancy stuff for smartcards...

BTW, the name eid or electronic identification might be a bit
misleading. The electronic data itself cannot identify the person who
presents it to you. You need a second authenticator such as a secret PIN
or his/her physical presence (to check the picture). The name epass-tool
might be more appropriate.
