So news about the testing farm. 1. Many thanks to those who sent cards for testing. I did not count in details, but we should have around 10 cards to start. This is fairly enough to start and validate the concept! 2. We now received all hardware: servers, professional USB hubs (they were SLOW to arrive). Some parts are still missing, but this is not an issue. For example, we need some smart casing to line-up 100 smartcard readers and I did not make a choice already. The electrical backup is operational. All server are running on remote serial lines with remote monitoring (shutdown, reboot, etc ...). All systems are encrypted so there is no possibility for intruders to access the servers physically in the server room. 3. It took me a while to configure the Internet link, as this relies on a dual WAN, with DSL and Satelite (KA wave, a new technology for fast lines). For example, it took around 2 full days to configure the dish, firewall and router on 1st and 2nd May. 4. The farm is already operational for building packages and linked to OpenSC.fr Jenkins: https://opensc.fr/jenkins/ The reason why is to manage the quality circle from package compilation to automatic testing. So we need to be able to trigger testing after a successful build. 5. On Saturday 6 May, if everything is OK, I will install the server performing testing on cards with an initial capacity of 21 USB slots. At first, we will test under GNU/Linux. But then I plan to extend testing to other systems using USB over IP. This will avoid multiplying the hardware for each platform. But this is only a second stage. After seeing the first results, I would appreciate to receive more cards and USB tokens for testing. The more, the better quality OpenSC will become.
