I reedited with the new plugin, so wait a bit for the renderer:

The mess mostly comes from the two lights being so close, so the names + light 
character string obscures between the two.

It is correct that it is a rendering problem. It is also limited, if it is the 
plugin importing the name from the freietonne tagging, which tends to be 
descriptive, so that eg light character is rendered double. I also do not like 
to see names like "North cardinal" or "Lateral port buoy", it is just noise on 
the map. I have not created new marks with the plugin yet, but I assume you 
don't synthezise names. :)
