I just found out that specifically in Greece (but probably also in many other regions) the online map is overlayed with the "marina" symbol which comes from Skipperguide although there is no marina.
E.g.: http://map.openseamap.org/map/?zoom=12&lat=37.61054&lon=24.71525&layers=BFTFFFTFFTF0FF IMO a marina is a port with good shelter and facilities like electricity, water, and so on but not just any place to berth. I think there should be different symbol to mark a place that there is some information available on Skipperguide. Bernhard
