Hi there,

I recently started adding and fixing information on openseamap. There
are a few things that I did not find sufficient information about in the
wiki.

- There is no guide on how to chart signs. The plugins are incomplete
and it's pretty cumbersome to find out the rules and interdependencies
to the different tags/values.
- Where to place seamark:type=notice? - i.e. for an non-free ferry,
place on the ferry route or place one at each position where there is
such a sign installed?
- Tags/values for kiteboarding permitted areas/signs are missing.
- How to tag multiple signs on a single post/position?
- How do I manually enter depth information, like if I measured the
depth at several points by hand?
- Is it possible to enter depth contour lines (like areas where you say:
inside it is deeper than...)? Or do you collect pointlike depth
information from sonar logs and then compute the depth contours from that?

- Why is the sea map not available as a layer at https://openstreetmap.org?
- Why is the sea map not rendered like sea chart (like SeaChart
background in JOSM, yellow land with reduced information)?

What else came to my mind is:

- Why are you using sourceforge? - In my (and many other's) opinion,
github/gitlab are far better and SF is effectivly dead.
- Searching the mailing list archive is a PITA, you effetively do not
find the information you want. An issue tracker and some board software
with tagging and so on would make discussion and contribution easier.

Don't take this as a complaint or rant, I just didn't find satisfying
answers.

Greetz, Adam.
