Hi Everybody,

it took a little longer than expected (apache is not exactly intuitive to
configure), but now the new home for the OpenSG website is happily up and
running. At this point I would like to thank Allen Bierbaum, Patrick Hartling
and the whole Infiscape/Priority 5 team for their long (and sometimes arduous)
help in keeping the OpenSG home on the web up and running!

There are two ways to get to the new site: one is directly via
http[s]://external.lite3d.com/opensg. The other is put '76.165.207.14
www.opensg.org' in your hosts file and go to http[s]://www.opensg.org. We are
in
the process of getting www.opensg.org directly pointing at that machine, but it
will take a few days to percolate through the bureaucracy.

I have not tested absolutely all the pages, but as far as I can tell everything
is working. If you find something that is not working let me know. Your old
Trac
accounts should still work if you want to fix something yourself. Logging in is
only possible using https to external, but the login link wil redirect you
automatically. I'm having some issues with editing pages where the editor will
show an old version of the page, but i think that's more a client than a server
issue. Let me know fi you experience the asme.

Other things: I've cleaned up SF a little, as much as I could without removing
the project from there (which is still useful for distributing stuff). The
Google Code project is scheduled for deletion and should go away soon.

Open Issues:

- Documentation. Currectly Trac doesn't have the doxygen plugin that I hacked
for the old site, I still need to port that to Trac 0.11. Once that is
functional I will set up an automatically updated documentation for the current
svn. I'm planning to also put static version of the 1.8 and (when it's done)
2.0
on the system, they just won't be integrated into Trac.

- Distributions. We're going to need some help to set up a dist system. CPack
would be a natural choice, as it comes with CMake, but I don't have a lot of
experience with it and the installers it generates. if somebody could add an
installer building target to the CMake system it would be tremendously helpful.
I would like to support Win/Lin/Mac, which limits the choice of installer
builder, not sure what the best choice is. I know some of you have done
installers for OpenSG 2, please let us know what you did and how well it worked.

- Dailybuilds. I'm thinking of setting up a CDash site for OpenSG. That
integrates well with CMake and makes it fariyl; easy to add new dailybuild to
the it. Any reasons not to do that? I have not found out how to use CDash to
supply actual dailybuild distributions, that doesn't seem to be a common
request. Any other/better ideas?

- Release. Once we have the above up and running we should be able to just drop
one full dailybuild as a release. hat would help get the ancient dailybuilds
out
of the SF main page (can't seem to find another way to do that).

Let me know what you think, and where you can help!

Thanks

        Dirk
