I've written a basic loader (import/export) based on X3DToolkit (http://artis.imag.fr/Members/Yannick.Legoc/X3D/). It's currently only handling standard geometry / materials, so no support for ShaderAppearance (which to my knowledge still is in proposal state) - X3DToolkit doesn't implement it either, so adding support would be kind of a challenge :)

The existing code has been developed for the RealReflect project (http://www.realreflect.org) - if you're interested I can send you a package that should build within a current dailybuild.
