Hi Matthias,

I added some minutes ago also a CGParameterChunk. GLSL works fine on my FX5200 on windows and linux :-) Well the main reason for the Contrib directory is the external dependency to the cg lib.

Andreas

Hi there,

What Andreas is trying to tell you here (without saying it), is that now
might be a good time to think about switching to GLSL. ;)

Yep, that's what I was thinking about, too. And above that, it looks like the main advances are happening in Experimental/SHL anyway...;) But we're still unsure about the current driver's support of the "non-3Dlabs-cards", especially Nvidia in our case. What are the experiences? Is the support (for both Windows and Linux) still at the beginning or do they already provide the same feature set as the "established" shading languages...?

BTW: Is there a specific reason why CGChunk is in OpenSG's Contrib directory while SHL is in Experimental? Or is this just unintentional "legacy"?

Thanks a lot,
Matthias
