this was a diploma thesis done by Michael Braitmeier at Uni Stuttgart.
At some point they had a SourceForge project, but apparently that was
purged in the recent SF cleanup. AFAIK the code was never released, and
Michael has another job now.
No clue what the official status is and what the plans are, but I'm
still interested. ;)
