I tried to reproduce that here but couldn't, works just fine for me.
I downloaded the current g++ dailybuild, run the SCeneViewer, loaded
your model and happily switched back and forth between stats and no
stats, no problem.
Can you tell me what to do exactly to reproduce your problems?
For submitting problems: The best info is an instruction on how to
reproduce the problem (the more detailed the better), combined with a
stack trace of the crash. Just load the program and core into gdb and do
a bt (backtrace). That should be enough to get us started.
