Hi Andreas,

I have a similar problem, same machine booted in windows my scene renders fast, booted in linux it renders also fast but when I switch to fullscreen mode or resize the window bigger than about 1024x768 I get less than 1 fps.

mhm, over here resizing doesn't seem to make a difference. Does this happen regardless of what data is active? Maybe the larger buffer triggers the same memory problem ..

I have a number of machines with two different graphics cards in the quadro fx range (1300 and 3400). The 1300 machine drops to about 7 fps, so - with its 128 mb - seems faster than the larger 3400, although the framerate is below what I would expect for that kind of scene - other renderers produce up to 20 fps. What I've never seen in other renderers (and in OpenSG) before is the sheer drop from 60+ fps to 1-7 fps with just a few triangles more/less - this seems awfully like card memory exhaustion (although I do sort of remember that one of the hypes towards pci express cards was that bus memory transfers should be fast now .. hear hear).

I just don't get it, I've been seeing this problem since a couple of months now (on and off, as I got time to spend) .. before I could load the exact same dataset and everything was fine and stable at about 20-30 fps, depending on graphics hardware.

Thanks, sorry to be a bother and best regards,
-.jan.-
