this will also stop the servers. At least this works for the
testClusterServer.cpp example. It catches the socket exception and shuts
itself down.

True. But it will not shut down the servers, which is I think what he's
looking for. That would be a nice feature to have, IMHO.
I would ask Marcus to look into this, but he's preparing his PhD
defense, so he's a little busy (and nervous ;) right now.
