My application is a viewer for a CAVE environment, so the number of node and 
polys highly depends on the actual scene.
On average I have scenes made od some tenths of VRML files and each one has 
about 1000-5000 nodes and 2000 - 200000 triangles.
I've not used graph optimizations, so perhaps the number of nodes could be 
reduced (I'm not sure I'm doing backface culling).
