Talking about marketing... One thing that nobody has mentioned yet - the most trivial and obvious thing, but yet extremely important for "marketing" - is the name of this API: "OpenSG". OK, I don't know which one was first OpenSG or OpenSceneGraph. That does not matter, but the obvious thing is that people get confused just right from the beginning. Type in "Open Scene Graph" in google, and you'll see, OpenSG get's the 3rd hit or so. The web site of OpenSceneGraph is also much more fancy. Tons of impressive screenshots. The ones on OpenSG are really *outdated*. If you like to, we can contribute on nice screenshots. I don't know if we could contribute on the overall web-design, I'll check if I can make "donate" some resource for that. So please seriously consider changing the name, perhaps starting from version 2.0, making an announcment on opengl.org and things will start rolling again (hopefully). I think the trend using "Open" in a product name is kinda "out" and has an unfortunate "nerdish" touch. There are other ways in demonstrating that it is Open Source. I agree that OpenSG is the best API of it's kind available today, but the learning curve is way to long for appreciating all the great things OpenSG has to offer. Just take an example: Yesterday I discovered that there is a feature like "New filter foreground for color and geometric display correction". Sounds very interesting to me, but how can I get more info about that? Today we use our own implementation for projections on cylindric sufraces (using OpenSG with multipass rendering). So does this feature resolve the same problem? I'll have to check it out looking at the code, that's time consuming.
