not really, the message was not the 2.x can be used for a cave (that is already possible) but that 2.x runs also on "portable devices, aka Dell Axim" which is new ;-) A preview is already in the svn. As for the release, no fixed date yet. So far the plan is release 1.8 as the final of the 1.x series and afterwards concentrate on 2.x.
