This turned out to be unrelated to OpenSG, so *maybe* embedding manifests in
DLLs isn't as important as I was led to believe. I have seen other cases
where it is important, so I really don't know what to think at this point.
The problem may still be with manifests, but it is at the level of the
particular application I was testing and the resource (.rc) files it is
using. For some reason, when I compile in the resources, the application
becomes invalid. If I leave the resources out, it works fine.
