Hi,

I'm currently considering to switch the mesh representation
within our applications to something different than OpenSG in
order to be able to run several algorithms on them. We'll use
the OpenSG structures just for rendering and will convert
the respective representations. I'm interested in mesh 
decimation, normal calculation, triangulation, automatic 
LOD generation (preserving texturing!), etc. So far I've found
OpenMesh, VTK and GLOD. I'm interested to know if anybody
here uses a similar approach and what kind of libraries 
you use/recommend.
