the triangle count should be correct but the osgSceneViewer creates tristrips for all loaded geometries.
That's fine with me, but it still sholdn't report the wrong triangle count.

Yes. i think so.Also, for the file Apollo_7962.wrl i counted the triangles "by hand" (which is a matter of minutes with my favorite editor 'vim'). Same result as my counting script, instantreality (aka avalon) player, and our counting code -- different from osgSceneViewer.
Could you please give a bit more details on what results you get and howyou obtain your triangle count?

contains a number of wrl-files.The number in each file name is exactly the triangle count i've obtained. As i mentioned above, i've obtained these counts with 3 different methods, all yielding the same count.
