sadly enough we didn't make it into the summer of code, so nobody worked
on that. That being said, there has been some work on making the Collada
loader deal with the ideosyncracies of Sketchup. Not sure how complete
it is, but that seems like a promising route right now.
Or were you thinking of directly loading Sketchup files?
