None of those are what I would call big, so I'm surprised to see a drop in 
framerate. I would be really surprised if CL processing was the bottleneck...

The two things that I could imagine giving a drop is display list creation and 
texture mipmap generation. Can you try to change the texture filters to linear 
and turn off display list generation, and see if that fixes the problem?
