I dislike it to, but makes sense. A floating (shareable) license is more 
valuable than a locked one.

I suppose MatLab has it right, a single license (cheaper than floating) 
can be installed on several (up to 4) computers if the only same user 
uses those computers.

Forcing a single developer to buy a floating just to use it on his 
laptop and a few other machines is silly.

Haven't looked at that part, but it seems strange to have different 
pricing across platforms.

For us, it's worked pretty well on Windows.
