I have a HD 5850 or so at home, but only did some basic stuff with

well, most of the NV extensions won't be there I guess ;)
In general ATI is more strict when it comes to adhering to the spec
while Nvidia is often more lenient and allows code to function even if
it is non-conforming.
One area where that might make a difference is with vertex attributes,
IIRC Nvidia aliases the fixed function ones to the generic attributes
while ATI doesn't do it. Off the top of my head I'm not sure it makes an
observable difference with OpenSG.
