Title:
Profiles can't be changed directly
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
Fix Released
Bug description:
I have been struggeling a bit with the use of profiles, but I think I have
worked it out now. And as far as I can see it does not work the way it should.
The profile you use has to match the source material, that's fine. But it seems
like OpenShot will only use the profile that is set as default at startup.
This means that if you start OpenShot, choose a different profile than the
default for your project and start editing, you're in trouble. And if you go
the way of File>New project where you get the "Create new project" dialog box
and choose a new profile there, then you are also in trouble, because in both
cases OpenShot will continue to use the default profile.
The only way to start using a new profile is to first choose it as default,
then close and reopen OpenShot. This is very cumbersome and not the way it
should be. One should be able to choose the right profile and then start
working directly, both after starting OpenShot and when using File>New project.
Also, the manual should say more than it does about the use of
profiles. I have some thoughts about it and I'd be happy to write a
draft of the chapter, but it really should work the right way first.
My OpenShot version is 1.2.2.
