I did a patch over 1.4.3alpha1 and suggested it in a blueprint. "Provide a way to tell the user why the GUI is busy" see link on the bottom right end.
I goes a little further as loading files is not the only 'delayed' action in openshot. Could anyone try it and tell me if it helps? Ubuntu 10.10 2) Installation Method (i.e. DEB, PPA, Build Wizard, or Don't Know) deb - official ubuntu repo 3) Version of OpenShot (i.e. Help > About) 1.2.2 4) Attach a "openshot.debug" file (optional)... See the FAQ link above for details. Whenever I import many videos to project, UI is non responsive till import finishes. From my point of view some indicator/progressbar should be displayed that would present progress of import process in a nice way.
