As this is an old bug report, are you able to verify if it is still a
problem using version 1.4.3 of OpenShot and version0.8.2 of MLT?

Ubuntu 12.04
Openshot 1.4.2
HP Pavilion desktop
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+
4Gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT9400
Openshot crashes when editing video. It happens every time if the
video is quite long and the process takes time. Maybe an hour or so...
Just basic editing, some headers etc...nothing fancy. The app gets
slower to response, then it crashes eventually.
1.4.0 crashed exactly the same way.
