I use it sometimes to review only the effect settings of either the upper or lower clip.

If I disable the video inside the track by the crossed circle it is still shown in preview. I would expect the preview to be black. I could not see any error messages on the command line. The project is attached as archive (extract by "tar -xvzf OPenshot_Faketiltshift.tgz").
