I think I got it. It seems as if openshot understands gradients with alpha channel only in paths but not in rects. Maybe it would be a good idea to let openshot support alpha gradients in rects, too.
To solve the problem I first drew a rectangle in inkscape, marked it by left-click afterwards, chose "Path->Object to path" from the menu bar and filled it by chosing "Object->Fill and Stroke" from the menu bar and selecting the gradient of my choice. The apparently working title is attached. ** Attachment added: "Apparently working title" https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/1059480/+attachment/3419811/+files/Tut_Footerinkmod.svg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenShot Bugs, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059480 Title: title with alpha channel picture is not savable Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Won't Fix Bug description: I use openshot 1.4.3 alpha on Ubuntu 11.10. I created a new title (see attachments) caontaining an image with transparency. It is displayed fine in Inkscape but in the openshot title preview I see a bad artifact and I can neither save nor apply a title from this template. This behavior seems not to occur when I do not use transparent images.
